I’m Okay, How are You?
No one will be held accountable.
Congress won’t do a thing. And eventually, we will all be collectively gaslit. Unless we don’t allow that to happen.
Hi, I’m Joe – sorry I sensationalized the headline a bit. I don’t really want to ‘compete’ in any sort of media landscape or demand anyone’s attention. But here we are – without any sort of alternative to that failing system at hand.
I intend this article to be equal parts an introduction; to myself and this publication, and an acknowledgment of where we really are collectively — ‘The End’, at least from my perspective.
Not the end of life, or humanity, but the end of a period of blissful ignorance. A time when the average American can no longer be convinced into either complacency or apathy. This is ‘The End’ of the collective illusion of ‘America’ and a tbd future.
For those who have never been under ‘The Illusion’ and those who have managed to escape it, I do believe this is the best opportunity we‘ll ever have to save ourselves from ourselves.
The Masses are becoming conscious. Much like we all did as children — realizing that we are alive in a world that’s bigger than us. That our parents are fallible, grown children themselves. And that there may be much that we don't know we don't know.
We are at the end of our collective adolescence. We are waking up in a broken home, a broken world, and realizing – that at best, our caretakers do not know what the hell they are doing. And at worst, they know exactly what they’re doing and exactly how it is harming everyone.
Welcome to ‘The End’.
Also - They’re trying to turn it into a nuclear apocalypse? In a very similar way to how your parents ‘blew up’ when you left home and tried to call out a lifetime of abuse (that part may be for a very specific audience). But it‘s the same energy.
I’m a sucker for a good gimmick but not a cliche — so I’ll save any talk of endings being beginnings or whatever. But I do want to acknowledge that I’m strangely comfortable here.
Part of that is because I knew so much of this was true. Like the existence of a Shadow Commission on 9/11, or aliens, the JFK assassin being his driver — at this point, I don’t know what is ‘conventional’ or mainstream or still debated.
The larger part — is that my own experiences finding comfort in chaos have given me an unbreakable belief in People.
That’s it really, I just believe in us.
We are not sustainable — not this country, not this way of life that humanity has been pressed into operating in — it’s not sustainable and more and more of us are becoming aware of that. The way of life is not sustainable — but WE are.
That is the aim of this publication. To share a steadfast belief in the Will and Perseverance of HUMANITY and to encourage us to Build a World we are all excited to be a part of.
For now — I see this functioning in roughly three layers.
1. Identify and deconstruct the systems and ideologies that are supporting our existing world
2. Imagine alternative systems that help us access meeting basic needs
3. Create a micro version of these imagined alternative systems on whatever scale is accessible
How do we do these things? For now, through a semi-fictional
[Comic Book Universe] created to reset Pop-Culture, and a cooperative artist-owned housing and media publication network.
We're at a critical point of change in our world. Let’s make that change one we consciously decide on, and not one that is further oppressed upon us.
